Art Vision Statement
Art at Maytree School aims to stimulate creativity, imagination and inventiveness. We believe that art gives our children the skills, concepts and knowledge necessary for them to express their ideas and experiences. It fires their imagination.

Our purpose is to enable the children at Maytree School to use their oracy skills to communicate what they see, feel and think. The children experiment with their ideas, their use of colour, texture, form, pattern and different materials and processes. The children develop their ideas and show progression in their artistic skills through the process of recording their experiences and imagination.
Children also explore ideas and meanings through the work of artists and designers. We invite specialist artists in to work with the children, to inspire them and challenge their thinking and creativity. We also give children opportunities to visit museums and galleries, developing their skills of observation and evaluation.
