Music Vision
At Maytree Nursery and Infant school, our music curriculum aims to provide all students with a high-quality music education that engages and inspires them to develop a life-long love of music. It increases their self-confidence, creativity and imagination, and provides opportunities for self-expression and a sense of personal achievement. Our multi-cultural context provides a unique opportunity to explore and appreciate music from a variety of genres, styles and traditions. Our progression of skills allows children to understand and explore how music is created, produced and communicated, including through pitch, tempo and appropriate musical notations. Throughout their time at Maytree, children are given the opportunity to sing and to use their voices, to create and compose music on their own and with others.
