RE Vision Statement
RE is an integral part of everyday life for many children especially in the culturally and religiously diverse community of Maytree Nursery and Infants School. Here in our school children will learn about different religions, belief systems, festivals and rituals and whenever possible they will be able to visit a place of worship. Efficient planning, high quality resourcing and quality first teaching from Early Year through to KS1, enables understanding and appreciation of diversity, to promote shared values and to challenge racism and discrimination. In addition to dedicated RE sessions that follow our school curriculum, religious learning can take place in special assemblies which all pupils attend.
The children will develop their knowledge of their own faith, Christianity and Sikhism through progressive units of work encompassing the golden threads of community, belonging, love and special.
